After a looong winter and some repairs the Tiger Moth is finally ready for take off again.
Yesterday I finished repairing my Tiger Moth (since I crashed it in a take off autumn 2005). This is what I have done with it:
- Fixed the upper and lower wings because they snapped right off in the crash.
- A new spur wheel have been mounted the old one broke off.
- New Sullivan flexible push rods for rudder and elevator
- The fiberglass in the cowling where to thin and had cracked up, I added a couple of extra layers of fiberglass and polyester. Because the surface had cracks I added gelcoat filling and smothed it off.
- I have painted the whole aircraft to more look like the colors of the 1940's Swedish Airforce Sk11 trainer Tiger Moth
On the field again at last!
